The Lancashire Way is the name for services X40/X41 running between Accrington, Baxenden, Haslingden, Helmshore and Manchester.

The Route (north to south)
Between Accrington and Haslingden/Bent Gate The Lancashire Way serves all bus stops. Journeys between Whalley/Great Harwood and Accrington also serve all stops
Whalley, Great Harwood and Clayton-Le-Moors
A small number of journeys commence at Whalley or Great Harwood and run via Clayton-le-Moors to Accrington.
Accrington
From Peel Street in Accrington Town Centre, The Lancashire Way runs along Manchester Road, via Baxenden and Rising Bridge to enter Haslingden along Blackburn Road.
Haslingden
From Haslingden Town Centre, most journeys run as X41 via Helmshore Road and Broadway, serving Helmshore and Bent Gate, but a small number of journeys run as X40 direct along Manchester Road.
X40 and X41 then re-join to run direct along the A56 and M66 towards Manchester.
Greater Manchester
Running off the M66 onto the M60 Orbital Motorway, The Lancashire Way then enters Greater Manchester along Bury New Road, following a direct route into the City Centre.
Prestwich and Higher Broughton
The Lancashire Way provides a fast, direct passenger transport link between Prestwich and Manchester City Centre.
Between Prestwich, Higher Broughton and Manchester City Centre only selected stops are served, as shown on the Route Map.
Manchester City Centre
The Lancashire Way serves the heart of the City Centre, running along Victoria Street, Deansgate and John Dalton Street to our terminus in Chorlton Street.
Stops served are shown on the Route Map, and are convenient for the main shopping and business areas; the Cathedral; The Triangle; M.E.N. Arena; the G-Mex Centre; Chinatown; Manchester Town Hall; City Centre Museums; and the National Express Coach Station.
